Overview

Set within the narrow streets of Palma’s Old Town, Summum Boutique Hotel occupies a restored 16th-century palace where historic architecture opens into light, calm interiors. Behind the stone façade are just eighteen rooms and suites, a restaurant set within the former stables, and a vaulted cistern now home to an intimate spa. Original features remain, but the mood is fresh and uncluttered, with soft light, pale tones and a sense of ease that feels immediate on arrival. It’s a place to land, reset and take a breath in the middle of the city.

    PLACE
    Palma’s historic core

Summum sits within Palma’s Old Town, where narrow streets, small squares and centuries of architecture shape the neighbourhood. The cathedral, galleries, boutiques and restaurants are all within easy walking distance. Step inside the palace and the atmosphere shifts — a small courtyard, thick stone walls and soft light create a space that feels calm, offering a restful pause from the energy of the city.

    DESIGN
    Palace architecture reimagined
The restoration stays close to the building’s historic character, with vaulted ceilings, stonework and original proportions still clearly visible. Interiors are kept light and simple, with contemporary pieces that don’t compete with the structure. The balance feels considered, with the architectural features always at the centre.
    FOOD
    The stables

The restaurant sits within the palace’s former stables, now a vaulted dining room that feels intimate and quietly elegant. The kitchen follows a contemporary Mediterranean direction, using seasonal ingredients and reflecting Palma’s evolving food scene. Dining here feels relaxed and intimate, in tune with the feel of the hotel.

    WELLNESS
    The cistern spa

The spa sits within the palace’s original 16th-century water cistern, once used to collect and store rainwater. Now a compact wellness area for private use, it includes a Finnish sauna, a small pool with hydrotherapy benches and space to relax. A wide range of body and facial treatments is also available. Stone vaulting and low, warm light shape the atmosphere, which feels quietly enclosed.

    EXPERIENCES
    Coast by boat

A private boat trip along Mallorca’s coastline, offers a different perspective on the island’s cliffs, coves and pine-lined shores. One of the standout options is a day on a Riva yacht — beautifully designed and comfortable, with routes that can be tailored to the day. Time on the water can be paired with swimming stops, relaxed lunches on board or along the coast, and a slower way of seeing the Tramuntana from the sea.

    Sleep
    Rooms & Suites

Eighteen rooms and suites are arranged across the former Can Berga-Ladària Palace, with spaces created within the original building, including the old stables and water cistern. High ceilings, thick stone walls and opening windows give a real sense of space, which can feel rare in Palma’s Old Town. Interiors are modern and understated, allowing the architecture to take the lead.
