Overview
Hidden within the Matarraña region of Aragón, near the medieval town of Valderrobres, La Torre del Visco is a restored 15th-century fortified estate set among farmland, forest and orchards. The tower house, dating back to 1449, sits at the centre of a large private property where olive groves, vegetable gardens and surrounding land shape both the setting and the kitchen. Carefully restored over time, it remains deeply connected to its agricultural roots. Calm, intimate and quietly remote, it suits travellers drawn to seclusion, seasonal cooking and the slower pleasures of countryside living.

    PLACE
    Aragón’s quiet countryside
Torre del Visco sits within expansive private land near the village of Fuentespalda, close to the wild landscapes of the Ports de Beseit Natural Park. Olive groves, pine forest and farmland extend across gently rolling hills, bordered by the Tastavins river. The estate includes orchards, vegetable plots and gardens, with the fortified tower house at its centre, its stone façades and shaded courtyards reflecting its long history.
    FOOD
    Estate & season
Cooking begins with what grows on the land. Vegetables from the kitchen garden, herbs cut fresh each morning and olive oil from the groves shape the menus, alongside organic produce grown on the estate. Anything not produced here comes from nearby growers, keeping a close link to the surrounding region. The cooking follows the seasons and what’s ready. In warmer months, dinner unfolds on the terrace beneath open sky; in cooler seasons, it moves indoors to candlelight and stone walls.
    GARDENS
    The pace of the estate

Much of the pleasure lies beyond the house. Guests wander through orchards, vegetable gardens and rose-filled corners, or follow paths through surrounding fields and forest down towards the river. A swimming pool sits within the landscape, with views out across the valley. Time slows here, with the day shaped by the land itself.

    Sleep
    Rooms & Suites

Rooms are individually styled within the historic buildings, combining heritage character with comfort. Thick stone walls, wooden shutters and antique furnishings reflect the history of the house, with details such as reading corners and views across the gardens or towards the hills beyond. Some offer additional space or features such as wood-burning stoves or bathtubs, but all share the same calm, lived-in feel.
