Overview

Hidden within a private valley above the village of Puigpunyent, Finca Ratxó is a 25-room, adults-oriented estate in Mallorca’s UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana. The property sits within a restored 17th-century finca that once formed part of a traditional Tramuntana possessió — the large agricultural estates that shaped olive cultivation and mountain farming across the region. Thick stone walls, timber beams and shaded terraces reflect this heritage, while interiors remain light and natural so the surrounding landscape takes centre stage. Hiking and cycling routes begin nearby, making it both a place to pause and a natural base for exploring the Tramuntana.

    Place
    Puigpunyent valley

The valley sits beneath the slopes of Puig de Galatzó, one of the most prominent peaks in this part of the Tramuntana. Nearby, La Reserva Puig de Galatzó offers forest trails, waterfalls and routes through oak and pine woodland. Small mountain villages such as Puigpunyent and Galilea sit close by, while Valldemossa and Palma are within easy reach for day visits.

    Spa
    Quiet restoration

The spa offers a calm place to unwind after time outdoors. An indoor heated pool sits beneath vaulted stone ceilings, alongside a sauna, hammam and treatment rooms. Therapies focus on relaxation and muscle recovery, with massages designed to ease tired legs after hiking or cycling. Yoga and gentle movement sessions are sometimes held on terraces overlooking the valley.

    Table
    Seasonal Mediterranean

The restaurant follows a seasonal Mediterranean approach, built around ingredients sourced across Mallorca. Menus shift with the harvest, highlighting island vegetables, herbs, olive oil and regional seafood. Cooking remains simple, allowing the produce to lead. Meals are served on terraces overlooking the valley or inside the finca’s stone dining rooms, depending on the season.

    Movement
    Tramuntana trails

The surrounding Serra de Tramuntana offers direct access to some of Mallorca’s most scenic hiking terrain. Routes from the Puigpunyent valley connect to the GR221 Dry Stone Route, the long-distance trail that crosses the mountains through forests, terraces and historic paths built by mountain farmers. Quiet inland roads also make this a good starting point for cyclists exploring the Tramuntana foothills.

    Sleep
    Rooms & Suites

Twenty-five rooms and suites are spread across the estate, many opening onto terraces with views across the valley. Natural materials, muted colours and simple furnishings echo the landscape. Thick stone walls keep interiors naturally cool, while the valley settles into quiet soon after sunset.
