Overview

Reached via a long, tree-lined drive through 132 hectares of private estate, Castell Son Claret sits within formal gardens, olive groves and the sheltered valley of Es Capdellà. The distance from the road creates an immediate sense of separation. The estate’s history reaches back to 1450, with the present house later rebuilt as a noble residence, home to a Michelin-starred restaurant and a spa offering yoga, meditation, Tai Chi and Qi Gong. Children are welcome, though the atmosphere remains largely adult — best suited to couples and travellers drawn to gardens, dining and the slower pace of estate living.

    PLACE
    Inland Mallorca

Place – Inland Mallorca Es Capdellà sits in one of the quieter folds of southwest Mallorca, where the land begins to climb towards the Serra de Tramuntana. The landscape shifts quickly from coastal development to orchards, olive groves and low hills. Once through the gates, the outside world recedes. Long drives, old stone walls and mature planting create distance from the valley beyond. Palma and the coast remain within easy reach, yet the setting is firmly inland — estate, mountains and open sky.

    GARDENS
    Cultivated abundance

Gardens – Cultivated abundance The estate has formal gardens around the castell, with olive groves and countryside beyond. Palm avenues lead the approach, while citrus, rosemary and lavender frame the house. A kitchen garden supplies the restaurants. Transitions are subtle — clipped hedging softens into gravel paths, then opens out to views of the surrounding hills.

    TABLE
    Estate gastronomy

Food is closely tied to the estate and the surrounding Mallorcan landscape. Herbs, citrus and seasonal produce from the gardens appear across the menus, alongside ingredients sourced from nearby farmers and fishermen. Sa Clastra, the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Jordi Cantó, sits within the old courtyard and brings a contemporary approach to Mallorcan cuisine. Olivera offers a more relaxed expression of the same seasonal cooking.

    WELLNESS
    Garden-led restoration

The spa includes an indoor pool, hammam and treatment rooms. Treatments draw on Mediterranean ingredients and botanicals from the estate gardens. Yoga and mindfulness sessions often take place outdoors, with meditation, Tai Chi and Qi Gong also part of the wider approach. The effect is subtle — shaped as much by fresh air, quiet walking paths and time in the gardens as by the spa itself.

    MOVEMENT
    In and beyond the estate
Movement here is unhurried but present. Yoga sessions take place in the gardens, with personalised yoga weeks available for those wanting a deeper focus on practice and wellbeing. For something more active, guided cycling and e-mountain bike routes begin directly from the estate, following trails through the Tramuntana or down toward the coast. It’s a setting that encourages movement without structure — as much or as little as you feel.
    Sleep
    Rooms & Suites

Rooms are spread between the castell and converted estate buildings. Interiors combine historic features with contemporary warmth — neutral tones, natural light and uncluttered spaces that let the architecture speak. Tower rooms carry a stronger sense of the estate’s past, while garden suites offer more privacy and a closer connection to the landscape.
