Overview

Tucked within the narrow lanes of Palma’s historic quarter, a short walk from La Seu Cathedral and the Banys Àrabs, Can Cera occupies a 17th-century aristocratic townhouse in the Gothic quarter. With just fourteen rooms arranged around a central courtyard, it feels small and private. Heavy wooden doors close out the hum of the city, and inside, warm light settles against stone walls, carved ceilings and antique furnishings that reflect the building’s origins. It’s a place to retreat inward — calm, contained and quietly removed from the streets outside.

    Place
    Within Palma’s old walls

Located near the cathedral in Palma’s historic centre, Can Cera sits on one of the quieter lanes of the Calatrava quarter — a neighbourhood of noble townhouses, narrow streets and small plazas close to the Banys Àrabs. From here, the medieval city opens gradually toward the waterfront. Galleries, cafés and restaurants are all within easy walking distance, with glimpses of the sea at the end of nearby lanes. There’s plenty to see and do, yet this part of the old town remains surprisingly calm.

    Ritual
    Steam and stone

The spa sits within the former stone cellars, where thick walls and low vaults naturally hold warmth and steam. At its centre is the hammam, offering a slower, more traditional form of relaxation. Treatments focus on massage and hammam-based therapies designed to ease tension and improve circulation. A plunge pool and sauna complete the compact thermal circuit.

    Table
    Salon dining

Dining centres around Can Cera Gastro Bar, where seasonal Mediterranean dishes draw both hotel guests and Palma locals. The menu is shaped by Mallorcan produce — seafood, olive oil and regional ingredients prepared with a light, contemporary touch. Candlelight, stone walls and the open courtyard create an intimate setting that feels in keeping with the gentle pace of the old quarter.

    Sleep
    Rooms

Each room is individual, layered with antique furnishings, carved headboards and soft fabrics. High ceilings and shuttered windows soften Palma’s morning light. Some rooms look onto the courtyard, others toward the old town’s narrow streets, but all share the same calm, settled feel.
