Overview

In Palma’s old town, behind a discreet historic façade, Can Bordoy House & Garden hides one of the largest private gardens in this part of the city — a dense, green space of shaded corners and quiet calm. The house has been carefully restored, keeping its sense of age while introducing bold, characterful design. Palma’s galleries, restaurants and narrow streets are all close at hand, yet the stay is defined by contrast — city outside, garden within, and interiors that feel intimate and secluded.

    Place
    Palma’s historic centre

Set in Palma’s old town, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the cathedral, La Lonja and a mix of galleries, cafés and restaurants. Narrow lanes lead through the neighbourhood to small squares, bakeries and late-night tapas bars. Despite its central location, this part of the city feels slightly removed — a quieter pocket where daily life carries on at its own pace.

    Ritual
    Candlelit spa rituals

The spa is intimate and atmospheric, designed for private use. A stone-lined space with low light and candle glow creates a cocooned feel. Treatments focus on massage, bodywork and facials, using organic and vegan products by SCENS, alongside more advanced skincare from Swiss Perfection. Private fitness sessions can also be arranged, including yoga, meditation and strength training.

    Table
    Botànic and the garden

Food plays a role in the house’s approach to wellbeing. The kitchen rethinks “health food” — plant-forward, flavour-led and satisfying. Led by chef Andrés Benítez, the menu is built around organic, seasonal ingredients, with vegetables at the centre and fish and meat alongside. Food can be enjoyed in the garden, the library or the dining room. Breakfast and brunch feel relaxed and generous, enjoyed in the leafy surroundings.

    Design
    Old and new in balance

The building has been carefully restored by local studio OHLAB, transforming what was once a 16th-century manor house and later a nunnery. Original features remain — arches, stone and timber — alongside modern lighting, antiques and contemporary pieces. Playful details run through it: vines across the dining room ceiling and a rooftop pool that looks down through glass onto the staircase below. It feels imaginative rather than overworked.

    Sleep
    Rooms & Suites

Rooms have heavy velvet curtains, dark woods, antique details and, in some suites, freestanding bathtubs. Televisions are hidden discreetly behind mirrors and lighting remains soft. Some rooms overlook the garden, others Palma’s quieter streets. It feels closer to staying in a private house than a hotel — secluded and calm, even in the centre of the city.
