Some longevity retreats ask you to step away from life for a while. Verdura quietly encourages you to enjoy it more fully. Swim in the sea before breakfast. Play tennis in the morning. Spend the afternoon in the spa before lingering over wonderful Sicilian food as the sun begins to set. There is something wonderfully optimistic about the philosophy here. Health is not treated as an end in itself, but as the foundation for living well. You leave feeling energised, refreshed and reminded that longevity is as much about how you live as how long you live.
With 230 hectares of olive groves, citrus orchards and rolling countryside leading to a private 1.8-kilometre beach, Verdura offers endless opportunities to spend time outdoors. Whether swimming, walking, cycling or simply sitting by the sea, it's remarkably easy to fall into a more active, Mediterranean way of life.
The award-winning Irene Forte Spa brings together advanced longevity assessments, personalised wellbeing programmes and four thalassotherapy pools overlooking the Mediterranean. Treatments, movement and nutrition are supported by skincare created from botanicals grown on the resort's own organic farm.
The Mediterranean diet sits at the heart of the Verdura philosophy. Seasonal Sicilian ingredients, estate-grown produce and beautifully prepared regional dishes celebrate flavour as much as nutrition, proving that eating well can remain one of life's greatest pleasures.
Rooms and suites combine contemporary elegance with generous outdoor living, many overlooking the sea or surrounding countryside. Natural light, private terraces and calming interiors create a welcoming retreat after active days spent outdoors or in the spa.
Verdura Resort is approximately 80 minutes by car from Palermo Airport and around 90 minutes from Trapani Airport. Private transfers can be arranged, while a hire car offers the flexibility to explore Sicily's southern coastline and nearby historic towns.
Families are warmly welcomed, with dedicated children's facilities and family-friendly activities available throughout the resort. Adult-focused longevity programmes and the spa provide quieter spaces for those seeking a more restorative experience.
Play championship golf, enjoy tennis, cycle through the estate, paddle along the coastline, join fitness classes or explore nearby archaeological sites and traditional Sicilian villages. Our concierge can also arrange private boat trips, vineyard visits, cooking experiences and bespoke wellness activities.
The Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, the fishing town of Sciacca, the archaeological site of Selinunte and Sicily's south-west coastline are all within easy reach, offering a rich blend of culture, history and natural beauty.
Sustainability is central to the Verdura philosophy. Organic gardens supply the kitchens and spa, botanicals are cultivated for the Irene Forte Skincare range, and ongoing environmental initiatives support biodiversity, responsible water management and the long-term stewardship of the surrounding landscape.
