The best city breaks leave you feeling inspired, not exhausted. Six Senses Rome has a lovely way of making that happen. You wander ancient streets in the morning, pause for a few hours in the spa, then find yourself happily heading back out for another evening of galleries, piazzas and long dinners. You don't experience less of Rome by taking time to recharge. If anything, you find yourself lingering a little longer, wandering a little further and finishing the day with energy still to spare.
Step outside and you're within easy walking distance of the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, the Roman Forum and Piazza Venezia. Yet despite its central location, returning to the hotel always feels like stepping into a quieter side of the city.
Designer Patricia Urquiola has carefully restored the historic palazzo, balancing original frescoes, marble staircases and architectural details with the warm, understated style that defines Six Senses. Even the remains of an ancient baptistery discovered during the restoration have been thoughtfully preserved, adding another layer to the building's remarkable story.
The Six Senses Spa draws inspiration from Rome's historic bathhouses through a contemporary thermal circuit featuring caldarium, tepidarium and frigidarium experiences alongside personalised treatments, movement classes and holistic therapies. It is a thoughtful continuation of one of the city's oldest wellbeing traditions.
Rooms and suites offer a welcome sense of calm in the heart of the Eternal City. Patricia Urquiola's softly layered interiors combine natural materials, handcrafted details and gentle colours, creating spaces that feel restorative after a day exploring Rome.
Six Senses Rome is approximately 40 minutes by car from Rome Fiumicino Airport. The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Venezia and many of Rome's most celebrated landmarks are all within easy walking distance, making it an ideal base for exploring the city on foot.
Families are welcome, while the peaceful atmosphere, exceptional spa and central location make the hotel particularly appealing to couples and culturally curious travellers.
Explore Rome's historic centre on foot, discover artisan workshops and hidden churches, visit world-famous archaeological sites, unwind in the Six Senses Spa or enjoy sunset from the rooftop terrace at NOTOS. Our concierge can also arrange private archaeological tours, food experiences and exclusive cultural access.
The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, the Roman Forum and the Colosseum are all within easy reach, allowing you to experience many of Rome's greatest treasures without needing transport.
Sustainability is woven throughout the Six Senses philosophy. The restoration of the historic palazzo carefully preserved its architectural heritage while introducing environmentally conscious design, responsible sourcing and the brand's signature Earth Lab, where guests can discover practical sustainability initiatives during their stay.
