Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa

Map View
Overview
Perched high above the Amalfi Coast, Monastero Santa Rosa occupies a beautifully restored 17th-century monastery where stone walls carry the silence of the past. The former convent has become one of Italy's most intimate luxury hotels, yet remarkably little of its original spirit has been lost. Cloisters, stone corridors, fragrant gardens and uninterrupted sea views invite you to breathe almost from the moment you arrive. It's the sort of place where time seems to soften, making it wonderfully easy to reconnect with each other. Before long, the monastery begins to set the pace

Place
High above the coast
The monastery sits on a dramatic cliff overlooking one of Italy's most beautiful stretches of coastline. Four levels of terraced gardens cascade towards the sea, with Mediterranean planting, secluded places to sit and an infinity pool looking out across the Gulf of Salerno. Although Amalfi and Positano are close by, returning to the monastery always feels like stepping into a different world.
Wellbeing
A spa within ancient walls
The spa feels completely at home within the monastery, its thermal circuit unfolding through a series of vaulted stone spaces. Move between the stone sauna, domed herbal steam room, hydrotherapy pool and tepidarium, or retreat to the private Spa Suite, with its own rasul, steam room and garden terrace. Treatments take place in intimate rooms tucked into the old monastery, where centuries of stillness lend their own sense of calm.
Table
Rooted in Campania
Michelin-starred Il Refettorio celebrates the flavours of Campania with elegance rather than excess. Executive Chef Alfonso Crescenzo draws on the ingredients and culinary traditions of the region, bringing them into a refined Mediterranean menu. Dinner comes with wide-open views across the Gulf of Salerno, while an extensive Italian wine cellar gives the sommelier plenty to work with.
Sleep
Rooms & Suites
No two rooms are exactly alike, each shaped by the monastery's original architecture. Vaulted ceilings, thick stone walls and soft natural tones create a wonderful sense of calm, while every room looks out to sea, from Conca dei Marini's fishing harbour towards Amalfi. Some suites open onto bougainvillea-covered terraces above the Gulf of Salerno.
