The nicest thing about Eumelia is how easy it is to settle in. You might be invited to pick a few tomatoes for lunch, roll filo pastry with flour on your hands or taste olive oil beneath the trees, but everything is offered with the same easy generosity. The real pleasure comes from spending time with people who genuinely live this way every day. You arrive expecting an organic farm stay and leave with a warmer, more personal understanding of Greek country life, and a handful of simple ideas that quietly find their way into everyday life long after you return home.
Life among the olive groves Olive groves, vineyards, vegetable gardens and open countryside surround the farm, creating a stay that naturally draws you outdoors. Paths lead between the fields, shaded places invite long pauses and the changing light gives each part of the day its own character. This is a working landscape, but you’re free to experience it entirely at your own pace, whether joining an activity or simply enjoying the view.
Learning through food Meals tell the story of the farm long before they reach the table. You might harvest vegetables, bake bread, taste estate olive oil and natural wines, or learn traditional family recipes using whatever is in season. The food experience here is a way of understanding the connection between soil, seasons and everyday life.
Days here can be as involved or as restful as you choose. Join a seasonal harvest, take part in yoga, cycle through the countryside, learn traditional crafts or simply settle beneath the olive trees with a book. There is always something to discover, yet nothing feels expected. The experience gently reminds you that living well isn’t about doing more, it’s often about reconnecting with simpler ways of spending your time.
The contemporary eco-houses combine Greek farmhouse character with thoughtful sustainable design, offering private gardens, shaded verandas and views across the surrounding land. Comfortable and unfussy, they make it easy to settle into country life, with birdsong in the morning, clear skies after dark and plenty of space to feel entirely at home
Eumelia is located in Laconia in the southern Peloponnese, around three hours by car from Athens International Airport. A hire car is recommended for reaching the farm and exploring the wider region.
Families are warmly welcomed. The eco-houses and optional farm, food and nature experiences make Eumelia especially enjoyable for curious children and multigenerational stays.
Enjoy olive oil and natural wine tastings, cooking classes, seasonal farm experiences, yoga, cycling, walking and traditional craft workshops, or simply spend time relaxing among the olive groves. Experiences can be arranged through your Wellness Traveller concierge.
Mystras, Monemvasia, Sparta and the beaches and villages of the southern Peloponnese can all be explored on day trips from the farm.
Regeneration is at the heart of everything Eumelia does. Organic farming, biodiversity, renewable energy, natural building techniques and a deep respect for traditional agricultural knowledge combine to create a place where caring for the land and caring for people are inseparable.
