There is something wonderfully unforced about wellbeing here. You begin the day with yoga overlooking the bay, spend the afternoon walking ancient island paths or swimming in crystal-clear water, then return for a thalasso treatment before dinner. The days seem to find their own rhythm, where movement, rest and good food sit naturally alongside one another. Perhaps that's why people return year after year. Aegialis brings together all the ingredients that help us feel our best – movement, good food, the sea, fresh air and time to slow down, in a way that feels completely natural.
An island made for walking Amorgos is one of the Cyclades' great walking islands, where ancient mule paths connect whitewashed villages, hidden monasteries and dramatic coastal viewpoints. The landscape rewards exploration on foot, revealing a quieter side of the Greek islands shaped by sea, mountains and tradition.
The Lalon Idor Thalasso Spa has become one of Greece's best-known holistic wellness destinations, combining sea-water therapies, yoga, holistic treatments and personalised wellbeing programmes. Together with the island's walking trails and outdoor way of life, it creates an approach to wellbeing that feels both restorative and deeply rooted in place.
Food reflects the generosity of the island. Seasonal vegetables, herbs, olive oil and many ingredients come from the family's own farm, alongside fresh local produce and traditional Greek recipes. Every meal celebrates the simple relationship between good food, good health and sharing time together around the table.
Rooms and suites combine traditional Cycladic simplicity with warm contemporary comfort, opening onto terraces with sweeping views across Aegiali Bay. Calm interiors, natural light and the sound of the sea create spaces where rest comes easily.
Aegialis Hotel & Spa is located above Aegiali Bay on the island of Amorgos. Ferries connect the island with Athens and neighbouring Cycladic islands, while private transfers from the port can be arranged by the hotel.
Families are welcome, although the hotel's wellness retreats, yoga programmes and peaceful atmosphere make it particularly appealing to adults seeking a restorative island escape.
Walk Amorgos' ancient trails, visit the spectacular Monastery of Hozoviotissa, join yoga or Pilates classes, swim in secluded bays, enjoy one of the hotel's wellness retreats or explore the island's traditional villages. Our concierge can also arrange guided hikes, boat trips and bespoke cultural experiences.
The Monastery of Hozoviotissa, Aegiali Bay, Chora, secluded beaches and the island's network of historic walking trails are all within easy reach, revealing the authentic character of Amorgos.
Aegialis embraces a holistic approach to hospitality through locally grown produce, ingredients from the family's farm, traditional island recipes and a deep respect for the natural environment and cultural heritage of Amorgos.
