Local insights, insider tips and practical information to help you plan your journey.
Where is Natura Cavall in Mallorca, and how do you get there?
Natura Cavall is based in the countryside near Manacor, in Mallorca's eastern Llevant region. Away from the island's busy resorts, this is a landscape of open fields, traditional fincas, almond groves and quiet rural tracks. The Ferrer family have lived and worked in this part of Mallorca for generations. We'll arrange your accommodation in a characterful countryside property, along with private transfers to Natura Cavall and your other experiences.
When is the best time to enjoy horse riding and walking in rural Mallorca?
Autumn and spring are particularly lovely for this journey, with comfortable temperatures for riding, walking and spending time outdoors. From February, almond blossom begins to brighten the countryside, followed by wildflowers and fresh greenery in spring. October and November bring softer light and a peaceful atmosphere across the rural landscape. Summer can be beautiful too, although horse experiences are best planned for the cooler mornings or evenings. We'll shape the journey around the weather, the horses' wellbeing and your preferred pace.
What makes Natura Cavall different from a traditional riding centre?
Natura Cavall began with the Ferrer family's love of horses and their determination to give animals a second chance. Founded in 2019 by Joan Ferrer and his sons Xavier and Joan Pere, the sanctuary takes in horses that have been neglected, retired from competition or can no longer be cared for by their previous owners. Each horse is given time, veterinary care and patient training to recover and settle into its new life. Spending time here offers a very different perspective on the relationship between people, animals and the land.
Do I need horse riding experience to enjoy this journey?
Not at all. You don't need to be an experienced rider, or even ride a horse, to enjoy time at Natura Cavall. The experience can include meeting the horses, learning about their individual stories, spending quiet time alongside them and walking through the countryside. If you'd like to ride, the team can assess your experience and match you with a suitable horse and route. All riding arrangements depend on individual ability, safety requirements and the wellbeing of the horses.
What is walk-and-talk coaching with Manuela Störzer?
Manuela's approach brings coaching out of the consulting room and into nature. Rather than sitting face to face, you'll walk together through Mallorca's peaceful countryside, allowing conversation to unfold at its own pace. Drawing on her experience as a life coach and creator of Walking Coaching, Manuela combines movement, reflection and gentle questioning to help you explore whatever feels important. There's no pressure to arrive with a particular problem or goal, and the experience is coaching rather than psychotherapy.
Is this journey suitable for someone going through a life change or looking for a fresh perspective?
Yes. This journey may particularly appeal to someone navigating a transition, recovering from a demanding period or simply wanting time to think about what comes next. Time spent with the horses, walking in nature and talking with Manuela creates opportunities to slow down and reflect without the pressures of everyday life. It's equally enjoyable for anyone who loves animals, the countryside and meaningful conversation. There's no expectation of a particular outcome; the experience is shaped around what feels right for you.
Can I enjoy this journey without riding or taking part in coaching?
Absolutely. Although the horses and Manuela's coaching are central to the journey, the experiences can be shaped around your interests and comfort level. You might prefer spending time caring for and observing the horses, enjoying gentle countryside walks or simply sharing meals and conversations with the Ferrer family. We'll help you find the right balance between activity, reflection and time to yourself, while staying true to the spirit of the experience.
Are the experiences private, and is everything arranged for us?
Yes. This is a privately arranged Signature Journey, with time at Natura Cavall, coaching sessions and countryside experiences organised around you and your travelling companions. We'll arrange your accommodation, local hosts and transfers throughout, with our destination team coordinating the details. The horses' welfare and the availability of Manuela and the Ferrer family will guide the final programme. Your personalised proposal will confirm exactly what's included.
Can I extend my Mallorca journey or combine it with a wellness stay?
Absolutely. We recommend four days or more to enjoy this journey, but the duration and itinerary can be tailored to your interests, dates and preferred pace. You might choose to spend longer in Mallorca's peaceful countryside, enjoy additional time with the horses or combine the experience with a beautiful wellness hotel offering spa treatments, yoga or restorative programmes. We'll bring together the accommodation, private experiences and transfers to create a journey shaped around you.
