Overview

Lake Como is a sanctuary where time slows just enough for us to notice how wonderful life really is. Here, ordinary moments are far from ordinary. Coffee is lingered over. Meals are reasons to gather. Beautiful things are still made by hand. Over a few unhurried days, you'll spend time with the people who call Lake Como home, discovering what Italians have always known: with a little care and time to savour them, ordinary things can become some of life's greatest pleasures.

Start your journey
The morning ritual
Begin

Before the gardens open, you’re welcomed for a private visit to one of Lake Como’s great historic villas. Wandering beneath centuries-old cypress trees, hear stories of the families who once lived here and the architects who designed every path and terrace to frame the beauty of the lake beyond. Then, coffee in hand, you’re left to pause on a simple stone bench overlooking the water. The only sound is a gentle lap of the lake against the shore.

Wander
Above the lake

At a secluded farmhouse, a local family welcomes you to their farmstead above Bellagio, where orchards, gardens and pasture have been tended for generations. Beneath the trees, a picnic is laid with local cheeses, cured meats, fresh bread and miascia, the traditional cake of Lake Como. For a few hours, one of Italy’s most celebrated landscapes feels wonderfully simple.

Gather
Market morning

On market day, at the village café, sipping coffee at the bar, the Italian way, you’re introduced to a Como family who will host you for lunch. You’ll shop at the market for warm bread straight from the baker, gather flowers for the table, and choose ingredients with a friendly chat along the way.

Together
The long lunch

At your host’s home, lunch unfolds slowly as simple ingredients are prepared and recipes shared. Courses arrive when they’re ready, without anyone looking at the time. Family stories flow as easily as the wine. Nobody notices quite when lunch became afternoon.

Make
The beauty of touch

Silk has been part of life around Como for centuries. Inside a Bellagio atelier, meet the artisans keeping that tradition alive. Run your hands across fine fabric, mix natural pigments and learn the careful art of woodblock printing before creating a piece of your own. Colour and pattern emerge; something beautiful made from natural material, imagination and time.

Golden hour
The quietest of moments

As the afternoon softens, your boatman turns towards a quieter shore, arriving at a stone jetty beneath the cypress trees. A garden path opens onto a beautifully laid table overlooking the water. Aperitivo gently becomes supper as the light fades from gold to rose. Candles flicker. Local wine is poured. Every detail is given the care it deserves.

Reflect
Ending beautifully

Back on shore, the village settles into its evening passeggiata. People sit in cafés and on waterfront benches, families stroll together, making the most of the last light. Somewhere over these few days, ordinary moments felt precious. As you leave Lake Como, the scenery stays with you, but perhaps so does the intention to savour things that make life feel just a little more beautiful.
